The Miss American Pageant's Official Rules & Regulations

  1. You must be between the ages of 18-28 at time of application.

  2. You must be legal to be in the United States of America

  3. You must be born a natural  female.

  4. Although there is NO morals clause in order to compete, we do ask you to be of good character while during the competition and while representing the pageant throught the year.

  5. Although we don't discriminate against any potential contestant seeking to apply under the rules and regulations of this pageant, We strongly advise you, if you are not Christian, to pick up a copy of the Holy Bible and read a little bit of the New Testament. WE ask this because one of the competitions has a recital of your favorite scripture from the Holy Bible during the Onstage Poise/Interview segment of the competition so you have an equal opportunity to compete.

  6. You must adhere to the pageants modesty dress code:

  • No deep plunging back or neck lines.

  • Your bossom must not protrude above your neckline of your garment.

  • All slits must be NO higher than TWO inches above the knee.

  • All formals must be lined. Sheer parts of formals are okay at the knee or below.

     7. The Miss American Pageant reserves the sole right to remove* any contestant or titleholder from competition or from their respective titles for any reason whatsoever due to breaking the above rules, any lude or bad public behavior during the pageant or throughout the represented year. This includes photographs and any internet postings, with or without the presence of sash, crown or any identifying pageant symbols or materials.

We don't care about any past mistakes you may have made, so don't let those stand in your way.

You can find a copy of the Holy Bible in any Christian Bookstore or your local area church may give your a copy.

*The Miss American Pageant Directors reserve the right to remove any contestant or title holder. If we dismiss you, a replacement shall be named at our discretion.
